The Annual Living with Cancer conference is organized annually by the North East Cancer Research and Education Trust (NECRET) in conjunction with the North East Oncology and Haematology Unit with it typically held in late September in the City North Hotel. Unfortunately, this year’s event has had to be cancelled on public health safety grounds.
This public event is for cancer patients who are in treatment or who have finished treatment. Cancer survivors, caregivers or anyone impacted by this disease are equally very welcome to join us.
Held in a relaxed and friendly environment it is intended to be an uplifting experience where the attendees and health professionals can comfortably engage. Those attending on the day can receive updates on the various types of cancer from some of Ireland’s leading cancer specialists.
Refreshments are provided on the day. People can also avail of complementary therapy workshops and are entered into a free prize draw. There is no charge for this event.
NECRET has been truly fortunate to have had excellent speakers contribute to this important event for people impacted by cancer along with their family or friends.
If you have any suggestions for speakers or topics for future events, please email: info@necret.ie
This meeting held annually focuses primarily on updating colleagues in primary and community care regarding various aspects of cancer care management. In recent years individual cancers covered each year have been lung, prostate, breast and colorectal.
NECRET greatly appreciates the contributions of the leading cancer experts who present each year to General Practitioners from across the Northeast.
Other attendees are hospital staff from Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda and other hospitals in the Northeast and Dublin area.
